Donate Blood and Golf for Free

August 5, 2011
Donate a pint of blood at Somerset Medical Center and hit the links on us! Through Somerset Medical Center’s partnership with the Somerset County Park Commission, anyone who donates a pint of blood at Somerset Medical Center’s Blood Donor Program during the month of August will receive a round of golf at Green Knoll; Quail Brook; Spooky Brook or Warren Brook golf course for free. In addition, all participants will be entered into a drawing for a free weekday (Monday to Thursday) foursome with power cart at Neshanic Valley Golf Course in Neshanic Station.

“Our blood supplies are always critically low during the summer months due to increased demand and fewer donations due to donors’ vacations,” said Kathy Puder, Director of Laboratory Services at Somerset Medical Center. “But, after including the golf incentive last summer, we were successful in reaching our goal, and are grateful to the Somerset County Parks Commission for continuing to generously support our Blood Donor Program.”

Somerset Medical Center is one of a few hospital-run programs of its kind in the state, and relies on the support of individuals and area service organizations to provide most of the blood used annually at the medical center. To donate, you must be at least 16 years old and in general good health. The Blood Donor Room is open on Monday & Tuesday from 8 am to 6 pm, on Wednesday and Thursday from 9 am to 8 pm, and on Friday from 8am to 4:30pm. For more information, or to schedule an appointment call 908-685-2926, or visit somersetmedicalcenter.com.
