Flu Shot Clinics Set for Oct. 26 and 28

Somerset Medical Center will offer flu vaccines for anyone age 18 and older on Tuesday, Oct. 26 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Thursday, Oct. 28 from 12 to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. in the Tarantino Promenade Hall, just off the medical center lobby, at 110 Rehill Ave., Somerville. Cost is $20. Immunizations are free to individuals who present their Medicare Part B card. The flu vaccine will not be administered to women who are pregnant. No pre-registration is required.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently expanded its recommendations for the flu vaccine, recommending for the first time that healthy adults aged 18-64 get the vaccine in addition to high risk groups.This year’s vaccine contains antigens for both the seasonal flu and influenza A (H1N1).
