Taste of the Far Hills Races Set for Aug. 5

Somerset Medical Center is pleased to announce the second annual Taste of the Races event, to be held at Open Road Auto Group’s BMW Showroom in Morristown, on Thursday, August 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. The Taste of the Races, previously held at Somerset Medical Center’s Steeplechase Cancer Center, is a free preview event that presents a sampling of the food, fashion, networking and fun of the October Far Hills Race Meeting.
As the headline sponsor of the Far Hills Race Meeting, Open Road Auto Group is expanding its involvement this year by hosting the event at their stunning BMW of Morristown. Taste of the Races will showcase some of the area’s finest caterers and boutique fashion stores, giving guests the opportunity to sample a variety of Race day fare prepared by seasoned chefs and get an inside glimpse of the latest fall fashion trends. New this year, attendees will be welcome to shop on the spot for some of the Race Day clothing and merchandise typically sold at the area boutiques, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting Somerset Medical Center, the Far Hills Race Meeting’s long-time beneficiary.

A free event, A Taste of the Races will feature Race-inspired spreads from caterers such as Country Picnic in Bedminster, Food Company Catering in East Hanover, Kings Catering in Bedminster, Chris Casey & Company Caterers in Clifton, Monterey Gourmet in Bernardsville and Redwoods Inc. in Chester. Macy’s and fashion boutiques including Mendham’s Windswept will offer a sneak-peek of the hottest Fall fashion trends for Race-goers during a mini fashion show.
Guests will have the opportunity to sign up for tailgating spaces for the October Far Hills Race Meeting and learn about unique opportunities to entertain family, friends and business associates at the event. Attendees will also be eligible to win fabulous door prizes, and pre-purchase tickets for the annual Far Hills Race Meeting car raffle. This year’s raffle car, donated by Open Road Auto Group is the Mercedes-Benz GLK, will also be on display at the Taste of the Races.
