Vascular/interventional radiology services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital are provided by five subspecialty radiologists with Certificates of Added Qualification in Vascular/Interventional Radiology, along with a physician assistant, staff of Critical Care nurses and Technologists trained in Interventional Radiology. This team provides the entire gamut of interventional radiology procedures on both adults and children. Special emphasis has been placed on the minimally invasive treatment of uterine fibroids with the use of Uterine Artery Embolization. This program, in conjunction with the Women's Health Institute of UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, is one if the largest and most successful in the country. They provide expertise in the minimally invasive treatment of liver cancer using state-of-the-art tools such as thermal or radiofrequency ablation and tumor chemoembolization. Expertise is provided in angiography and stenting of virtually all of the arterial systems of the body.
