To promote early detection of lung cancer Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital has partnered with the Thoracic Oncology Program at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and University Radiology / Department of Radiology at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School to launch a Lung Cancer Screening Program for those at high risk for developing the disease due primarily to past or current smoking habits and/or a history of chronic lung disease.
Meet the experienced and highly skilled multidisciplinary team who lead RWJ's Brain Aneurysm program.
The Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Program at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital stands at the forefront of specialized care for patients with heart failure.
The Cardiovascular Center of Excellence at RWJ was recently selected to be one of the first sites in the nation to offer Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) since the procedure received FDA approval. It is the latest in cardiac treatment breakthroughs being offered by RWJ.
TAVR allows a multidisciplinary team of cardiac surgeons, vascular surgeons, interventional cardiologists and cardiac anesthesiologists at RWJUH and RWJMS to replace a patient’s diseased aortic valve without using traditional open-heart surgery and while the heart continues to beat, avoiding the need for cardiopulmonary bypass.
The Stereotaxis Gentle Touch Magnetic Navigation System offers a high level of precision and safety. Physicians operate two huge magnets, which are positioned outside the body, to precisely maneuver catheters throughout the delicate cardiovascular system.
With the computer to assist in precise navigation, the doctor is then able to focus on the patient and the outcome rather than the mechanics of the procedure.
The designated Stroke Center at RWJUH provides patients with rapid diagnosis and treatment, specialized inpatient care, access to clinical research through our relationship with UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, discharge planning and post-hospitalization follow-up care.
RWJUH now offers minimally invasive mitral valve repair using a state-of-the-art surgical robot.
This new approach enables the surgeon to operate with unparalleled precision and control through a few small incisions.
RWJUH provides comprehensive services for the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of a full range of vascular diseases:
RWJ now provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment for pediatric and adult patients.
Services are now available in two convenient outpatient locations: New Brunswick and Old Bridge.
Our team board-certified sleep physicians and staff offer the full range of sleep studies and treatment options for all ages, from infants as young as one month, to adults and seniors.
BMSCH features sub-specialists in all areas of pediatrics from pediatric surgery, urology and cardiology to oncology, hematology and pulmonology, all in a family-centered environment.
This unique new program guides women through all aspects of breast health.
